甲子園歴史館

The newly revamped Museum of Hanshin Koshien Stadium will be reopening!
Come visit this museum where you can experience the countless dramatic episodes that have unfolded
on this hallowed field while learning about the rich tradition of high school baseball and the Hanshin Tigers.

What is Hanshin Koshien Stadium?

Constructed in 1924, it is a ballpark with a long history. Hanshin Koshien Stadium is not only home to Japan's second oldest professional baseball team, the Hanshin Tigers, but also serves as the stage for the national high school baseball tournament held twice a year in the spring and summer. With its history of about 100 years, the stadium is called the "sacred ground of baseball" and is a place of longing for high school baseball players throughout Japan.
Many professional baseball players such as Shohei Otani, Hideki Matsui, and Daisuke Matsuzaka, who are also active in Major League Baseball, played at Koshien during their high school years.
